Josephine’s betrothed was born this morn’…
Royal Rugh was born this morning. We and his parents have decided they will be married in a few decades. Unfortunately, he’s in Utah, so they won’t get to meet for a good week and a half. Pictures will come. She’ll probably look pretty big next to him for a while. Look how excited she is about it though…

Nat’s shooting for a #1 Dad shirt this Father’s Day.
A lot of people have been asking how Nat is adjusting to fatherhood… I thought photos would be a better answer than words…

Josephine got in a fight… (someone needs to cut that girl’s nails). I hope this picture captures how crowded our bed can get at night. Just add two giant people to the picture.

(People have also been asking how Gus is doing.)
Josephine Kelli Foster is born!
Hello all! I have a baby girl! She’s lookin’ great. Unfortunately, I’m still in the hospital without the cord for my camera to upload photos, but they’ll get up here eventually. We’re doing very well. Epidurals are Wonderful with a capital W. Josephine was born on the 30th at 4pm. She weighs 7lbs 7oz, and is 20 1/2 inches long. She has long black hair and long fingers and feet. She also has long eyelashes and beautiful pink lips! So cute. She’s been sleeping pretty much since she was born… which has been nice, except when I’m trying to feed her. The second after she latches on she falls right into a really deep sleep. Now that she’s over 24 hours old though, I’m hoping for some more awake time with her. Nat’s been a champ. He’s been very supportive, and way less grossed out than he should be by everything. He changed his first diaper today, and has gotten awesome at wrapping her up in receiving blankets.
Anyway, my food is here! If anyone wants to call me, my cell doesn’t get service in my room, so you can call 703-391-4329 until tomorrow morning (Wednesday).
More to come later! Peace out.
Latest Belly Shot…

Courtesy of Anne Robert Photography… there’s more where this came from. Get excited.
Josephine’s doing well!
So, I finally went to the doctor, and it looks like Jo’s doing fine. Her heartbeat is strong and normal. My measurements were all normal. I took the glucose test today (finally). Less than 6 weeks until the due date! Craziness. There aren’t any tours of the hospital available until March 19th, but I’m looking forward to it.
I Made a Dress!
Check it out. First dress I ever made.

That’s a onsie under it… if you can’t tell from this excellent photo.
Yikes…
Alright people. Let’s talk weight. How much did you guys gain while you were pregnant? I know it’s not cool to ask such a question, but I gained NINE whole pounds this month. My doctor said that everything looks good (baby’s healthy, and I’m healthy), but that 9 was a little high and that I should just eat smart. It’s possible he has a point… I did eat approximately 20 peanut-butter cookies in the last three days (in addition to my fair share of Oreos, and ice cream). He said overall in my pregnancy I’ll probably gain about 10 pounds more than average (like 40ish pounds). Am I a hefer? You can leave comments anonymously.
Baby Name
We’re 98% sure about what we’re going to name baby Foster. If you don’t like it, lie and pretend you do. The name is Josephine Kelli Foster. I like Jo for short, but I’m gonna try to discourage Josie. Joey is okay… but not the coolest option. And mom, don’t be sad that we’re using Kelli’s name before yours. My next baby girl is Karen, so just give it a few years.
It’s a girl!
She’s waving. Either that or she’s practicing her jumpshot (follow through, ya know?).
This picture is easier to see when it’s bigger. The point on the left of the head is the chin. She’s smiling, and you can see her right eye pretty well at the top there.
Did you notice the Fisher buns?
Boy or Girl?
So, I’m 17 and a half weeks along! It looks like we’ll probably find out the gender of the baby on November 4th. I want to know what people think it is. Please submit a guess and if you’re right I’ll send you something awesome, like a sticker, or a fake tattoo.
Guesses so far:
Girl- Cheleyne, Carolyn, Melanie, Alison, my dad, my mom, Dave, Anne
Boy- Lisa F., Laurie, Kelli, Angie, Justin, Lisa J., Evey, Whitney
I heard a heartbeat!
No gender news people. I did hear the heartbeat though. It’s nice and strong. I’ve gained three pounds since my last visit, which he said is good… so all is well.
1st Photo
Here’s baby Foster. We saw its arms and heart, and it did a little dance for us.
