Happy Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving we went to a little island on the coast of Virginia called Chincoteague, where herds of wild ponies roam. It was cool. We drove almost to the complete eastern end of highway 50. You know how there’s a sign in Sacramento on 50 that says, “Ocean City, MD”? We were right there!! Weird, eh?
Netflix is the bomb.
We have finally signed up for Netflix. How have we gone this long without it? Buying TV series on DVD?!? Crazy. I put a bunch of awesome looking workout videos on the queue. Mostly hip-hop. I’m going to look so hot doing hip-hop with a pregnant belly. Anyhoo, we’re open to suggestions. I know there are a billion movies we haven’t seen that we should see… and now we can. Let me know what’s good.
Sorry, Laurie; I’m a thief.
I
I AM … a mellow, tall, white girl.
I WANT… a humongous TV or a projector.
I HAVE … a lot of really comfy pants (thanks to my darling mother-in-law).
I KEEP … a huge pile of unread “The New Yorker”s in my storage room.
I WISH I COULD … teleport to the West whenever I felt like it.
I HATE … Anne Hathaway… and I’m not sure why.
I FEAR … being broke/in debt forever.
I HEAR … Law & Order at the moment.
I DON’T THINK … any guy is as much of a babe as Nat is.
I REGRET … not playing on the volleyball team in high school. The team in Belize doesn’t count–we only played one day.
I LOVE … when Josephine kicks me, awesome movies, good music, playing drums in Rock Band, the ocean, sailing, and Taco Bell… and family and stuff.
I AM NOT … as smart as people think I am. It’s nice that I can fake it though.
I DANCE … to make Nat laugh.
I SING … loud in the car. Even when I don’t know the words.
I NEVER … buy tomatoes or sour cream. Ew.
I RARELY … go to Walmart without checking the $5 movie bin.
I CRY WHEN I WATCH … Steel Magnolias (the funeral scene where Sally Field says, “I wanna know why!!”).
I AM NOT ALWAYS … nice to Gus. Realizing that though makes me feel bad… I’ll pet him right now.
I HATE THAT … I have to pay thousands of dollars every year to insurance companies just in case I get in an accident or get hurt somehow.
I’M CONFUSED ABOUT … how to sew a baby dress I’ve been kind of working on.
I NEED … more to do. I know that makes 99% of the world sick to hear, but seriously, I have way too much time on my hands.
I SHOULD … learn Spanish, how to play drums (real ones), and about photography, and film. I should also exercise more.
I HOPE … Josephine is a healthy baby, and that she doesn’t think me and Nat are just nerdy, rather than nerdy yet super cool.
Yikes…
Alright people. Let’s talk weight. How much did you guys gain while you were pregnant? I know it’s not cool to ask such a question, but I gained NINE whole pounds this month. My doctor said that everything looks good (baby’s healthy, and I’m healthy), but that 9 was a little high and that I should just eat smart. It’s possible he has a point… I did eat approximately 20 peanut-butter cookies in the last three days (in addition to my fair share of Oreos, and ice cream). He said overall in my pregnancy I’ll probably gain about 10 pounds more than average (like 40ish pounds). Am I a hefer? You can leave comments anonymously.
Quantum of Solace Review
This Bond movie takes place right where Casino Royale left off. It is action packed! Daniel Craig is, of course, amazingly cool in it. I liked the new Bond girl more than I expected. She is not just a piece of meat, and Bond is not as promiscuous as I feared he would be (after losing Vesper, I thought he’d be using old-fashioned Bond methods of finding happiness more). The story keeps you entertained and interested, and the villains were pretty bad dudes. I don’t remember hearing much, if any, profanity. Awesome videography. It was great. That being said, it is possible I liked Casino Royale a little bit more, but still was thoroughly entertained… and it was a midnight show!
I need help!
I hate health insurance. I don’t know anything about it, and the one we’re overpaying for stinks. I need to switch to a new company in the next couple days. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as good ones (that you can get short term)?
Baby Name
We’re 98% sure about what we’re going to name baby Foster. If you don’t like it, lie and pretend you do. The name is Josephine Kelli Foster. I like Jo for short, but I’m gonna try to discourage Josie. Joey is okay… but not the coolest option. And mom, don’t be sad that we’re using Kelli’s name before yours. My next baby girl is Karen, so just give it a few years.
Let the Right One In
This is a new vampire movie from Sweden that Nat and I saw last night. I don’t think it will be shown in many theaters in the US (as it’s in Swedish, and it’s pretty weird). It was very well done though. It’s about a vampire girl in a 12 year old’s body, and a 12 year-old boy she becomes friends with. The movie has an amazing blend of creepiness and sweetness. It’s not real entertaining/pleasant, but the climax and ending are great. Man, Sweden looks freezing! The whole time I felt cold just watching all the snow and breath.
It’s a girl!
She’s waving. Either that or she’s practicing her jumpshot (follow through, ya know?).
This picture is easier to see when it’s bigger. The point on the left of the head is the chin. She’s smiling, and you can see her right eye pretty well at the top there.
Did you notice the Fisher buns?
